Spring Concert & Bottle Drive
Our spring concert is coming up on Thursday, April 18th. The matinee performance will be at 1:00pm and no tickets are required for this. The evening performance will be a ticketed event due to fire regulations and gym capacity. Please return your blue forms to confirm your attendance. If you will not be attending, please return the form letting us know so that we can offer the tickets to another family.
Save your bottles and bring them with you when you attend the concert. Thank you for your support.
Precautions for the Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8
On Monday, April 8 a partial solar eclipse will be visible in Calgary. The solar event will begin just before noon and conclude by 2:00 p.m., with the maximum coverage occurring at 12:43 p.m. All students will remain indoors for the lunch hour.
Scholastic Book Fair
The Fair is now closed, and it is just a matter of getting our purchased books into students’ hands through library sign-out. Re-ordered books have been delivered to students who ordered them. A huge thank-you to those parents (and grand-parents) who were able to volunteer at the Fair. Their assistance ensured a good flow of parents and students with minimal waits at the cash desk. We set a goal of $4,000 in sales and surpassed that by $100. The earned funds will be used to ensure that our library remains inviting to all students.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are excited to have many great opportunities to help our school through the next couple of weeks!
- Gym Storage Organization - our gym storage requires some helpers to get the room organized. If we could get 2 or 3 helpers for April 9 at 10:30 am for an hour (or two if you can spare it). Contact volunteerpow@gmail.com if you are able to help out.
- Fun Lunch Sorting - April 10 & 24 - we need 5 parents for each Fun Lunch day to sort and deliver lunches to the students. Me et in Room 18 at 11:10am at PoW and should be done in approx. 30 mins. Please sign up here: https://bit.ly/FunLunch23-24
- Spring Concert Helpers - we are hoping to get some help with Stage Set-up, Takedown and Concert Chair Cleanup for our Spring Concert. Stage Set-up will be on Monday, Chair cleanup on Thursday after the concert, and Stage Takedown on Friday morning (non-instruction day). - Spring Picture - we would like to have 2 volunteers to help out with the spring picture session on April 22. The volunteers will help from 8:00 am to approx. 12:00 pm, coordinating students to and from classes for pictures and will receive a discount for purchasing pictures.
