The P.O.W. Party Givers, Communicators and Cheerleaders

The Prince of Wales School Council is the structure where the school community discusses and supports school activities. The agenda for meetings is developed by the Council Executive and School Administration with input from sub-committees. Council sponsors social and family events throughout the year (i.e., Halloween Family Dance, Family Picnics, Staff Appreciation, etc.) and works with the staff to co-sponsor other events (i.e., Terry Fox, Sports Day, Book Fair,  Safety & Wellness committee, etc.). Council also sponsors Fun Lunches, guest speakers of interest to parents and other social or educational events. Other duties that fall under council’s role include the organization of school volunteers, communication to the school community about events and Calgary Board of Education priorities, and the cultivation of school culture and spirit. Council welcomes and encourages all parents to attend some or all of the council meetings. These meetings are informative and are a great way to participate in school priorities and to meet other parents. Please plan to attend the first meeting of the year as we need many volunteers and voices to come together and support this wonderful school. Minutes of the meetings are posted on the website. These meetings will be held at the school and on Teams from 6:30-8pm.  All are welcome!
