New School Website Coming 

Within the next couple of weeks, all CBE school websites will be transforming to a new look.  As we begin this transition, the old school website will no longer be available.  Stay tuned for our new improved look coming soon. 

Lunar New Year 

Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year) happens on Saturday, February 10 this year. In honour of this, we are asking all students and staff to wear RED on Friday, February 9. Wishing all of our families who celebrate a Happy New Year. 

 

Power Hour 

PoWer Hour is designed like a university course.  It offers students an opportunity to explore different topics and develop cross curricular competencies such as to: think critically; identify and solve complex problems; identify and apply career and life skills; apply multiple literacies; and demonstrated good communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others.  Teachers have designed courses in which they can share a passion of theirs with students.   

Paper forms will be going home with students mid February for them to pick their top 3 choices.  We are always looking for volunteers to help out during these sessions.  If you are interested in supporting, please send Mrs. Gelfand an email. 

 

Assurance Survey  

We want your feedback! Your voice counts. This survey is an opportunity for you to give Alberta Education, the Board of Trustees and your school feedback about what we are doing well and what we could do better.  This survey is one of the things Alberta Education, the CBE and the principal think about when we change the way we do things to improve your school experience.

All students in grade 4 - 6 will complete this survey at school. Parents of grade 4 students will be mailed a package to their home to complete.  

 

 

School Council Movie Night 

School Council is excited about the upcoming family movie night fundraiser on Thursday, February 8.  Ticket information was sent home with students last week.  If you need a new form, please contact the office and an extra form will be sent home with your child.  Doors open at 6:00pm and the movie will start at 6:30pm.  We look forward to seeing all of our families.
