Black History Month

Black History Month offers an opportunity to celebrate the diversity and achievements of Black Canadians. At the front of the school is a bulletin board highlighting a few individuals that students might recognize. Mrs. Johnson has been working with a group of students to create information videos that are shared with all classes. This will be ongoing throughout the month of February. Mrs. Fitzowich has also displayed some books in the learning commons to highlight and for students to access.

The link below is to a playlist of CBC kids videos, books, short stories etc. if your family is looking to explore more on Black History Month.

Playground

Our small playground is coming up to the time where it needs to be replaced. There is no definite date yet. However, it takes many months of planning and fundraising leading up to it. All funds required for replacing a new outdoor space comes purely from the school. This is why, you will have noticed, that there has been an increase in the amount of fundraising. We will be raising money for the next year or two to fund a new outdoor space. This is a slow process, however, as more details become available we will share with the school community.

Yearbook

It’s time to order your yearbook! You can order your yearbook through lifetouch at ybpay.ca, using the school code 10928725.  Yearbooks are $20.  The final due date is May 23rd. We will once again have a delivery of yearbooks in June.  Students will have the opportunity to autograph each other's yearbook before being sent home.

Pink Shirt Day

Pink Shirt Day 2025 is all about cultivating a community of kindness. Just like tending to a garden, together we can each help nurture a sense of belonging where we live, work, and go to school. It all starts with small gestures— a kind word, an offer of support or understanding. If we plant enough, pretty soon, more will be sprouting up all around us! By sprinkling these seeds of empathy and compassion, we can work towards a world without bullying and "Let Kindness Grow" through all of our community gardens.

Join our Grade 1’s at our assembly on Monday, February 24 at 10:30am.

The date has been adjusted for our school due to other conflicts. Please wear PINK on Monday, February 24th.
