Happy New Year
Welcome to 2025! We want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. We look forward to continuing to work with our families at Prince of Wales. The next few months are beginning to look very busy. Please make sure to check the school website as well as google classrooms for up-to-date information regarding learning in the classroom and events in the school.
Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration for the 2024-2025 school year begins on January 13. All registrations are completed online through School Engage. Registration is NOT a first come first serve basis. For more information, please access this link. Prince of Wales will continue to offer full day alternating Kindergarten next year.
Label Clothing
Many students have returned from the break with new jackets, hoodies, gloves, mittens, and snow pants. Please take a moment to label all items with your child’s name so that any lost items can be easily returned. While our Lost and Found was cleared out and donated to charity before the break, our collection has already begun to grow.
School Apparel Store Now Open Online
Prince of Wales Apparel is now available to order online by clicking here. T-shirts for pink shirt day are also available with the aim of having them delivered in time for Pink Shirt Day on February 26th.
We have samples of sizes available at the school. Come by the office and we'll be happy help you out with this.
If you are interested in ordering a Prince of Wales t-shirt, hoodie or toque have a look at all the options.
The online store will remain open until February 2nd. No late orders will be accepted.
Gymnastics
January 20th will be the beginning of our gymnastics unit in our regularly scheduled physical education classes. This unit lasts for 3 weekes. To begin this unit, we review safety procedures with each class. Students in elementary school are not expected to change for physical education. When participating in gymnastics we ask students to be dressed and prepared to participate. We ask you to consider the following:
• Clothing that allows freedom of movement
• Loose fitting/baggy clothing may get caught on equipment when climbing.
• Tucking shirts in may help to prevent an accident.
• All jewelry that could get caught on equipment should be removed (left in classrooms or left at home). e.g. watches, rings, necklaces, etc…
• Students with long hair should have their hair tied back. Tying hair back with elastics (scrunchies) is recommended. We cannot supply elastics for students.
• Students may wear shorts under clothing if they wish.
• Students continue to wear indoor running shoes (first preference). Students may also participate in bare feet or with gymnastic slippers.
Report Cards
Families will be able to view online student report cards on January 27th. Report cards for the 2024-25 school year may be viewed, downloaded and/or printed. You access your child’s report card through your MyCBE account.
