Ramadan Mubarak
To all of our families that celebrate, we wish you and your loved ones a blessed Ramadan filled with joy, harmony, and countless blessings.
School Conferences
With labour action by CUPE Local 40 members limiting access to CBE schools after hours, the decision has been made to move March parent/teacher conferences online.
School Conference booking will open on Wednesday, March 12 at 8:00am. Parents can book a 15 minute conference with their teacher. Once booked, you will receive an email confirming your date and time and providing a Microsoft Teams link for your online conferences.
As this round of conferences was identified as student-led conferences, students will be bringing home a flat sheet that will highlight some activities to complete together. This is intended to be completed before meeting with the teacher, to allow follow-up conversation during conferences.
Conference times are as follows:
Kindergarten – Mrs. Bridle
- March 20 – 8:00-11:30, 12:30 – 2:30, 4:00 – 8:00
Kindergarten (Mrs. Smyth) & Gr. 1-6
- March 20 – 4:00 - 8:00
Kindergarten – Gr. 6
- March 21– 8:00 – 12:00
School Engagement Survey
We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That’s why we’ll be sharing information about school planning and asking you to share your perspectives.
We encourage all families to participate in our engagement survey. The survey is open until next Friday, March 14th. You can access it below:
Assurance Survey
Each year, Alberta Education requires schools to complete surveys regarding the quality of education in the school. The purpose of this survey is to:
- Provide feedback to Alberta Education on students’, teachers’, and parents' / legal guardians' opinions about their school, their school work and the opportunities their school provides.
- Provide important information on the quality of education students are receiving.
- The results are:
- used by schools, school authorities and the government to see what’s working and what needs to be improved; and
- shared with the whole community.
- Note | Surveys are sent only to the custodial parent/guardian of the student, as Alberta Education uses the student information to determine the sample. The intent of this survey is to provide each student’s family with one voice, which is why the survey is only sent to the custodial parent/guardian of the student.
Students in grades 4, 5, 6 will complete this survey during class time.
Parents of students in grade 4 would have received an email with the survey link and a random access code to use. We kindly ask parents to complete this survey to provide us with feedback and input. If you are a parent in grade 4 and did not receive this email with a code, please contact Mrs Gelfand and she will be able to provide you with the details. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback.
