Communication Regarding ATA Job Action – Teacher Strike

The Calgary Board of Education continues to prepare for an Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) strike starting on Monday, Oct. 6.  

All classes will be cancelled. Families are being asked not to send their children to school. 

ATA staff, including principals, will not report to work.

Onsite, Offsite, & Athletics

• During the strike, all events scheduled from October 6 to October 31 will be cancelled by schools, even if there is a settlement within that time frame
• Towards the end of October, if the strike continues, decisions will be made on a monthly basis moving forward

School Newsletter

A copy of a school newsletter created by a parent on school council was sent home in your eldest/only child’s bag this week. It’s not often that you get Free Webinars for Parents on Topic of Child & Youth Mental Health. Child & Youth Well-Being Family & Caregiver Series 

Attached is a letter with links to free webinars for parents to access on the topic of child and youth well-being. The offerings look quite good, and I wanted to pass this along. If interested, look at this link.

Chip Pick Up

Thank you for ordering chips as a fundraiser. Your child will have an orange notice in their bag today, to share details for the pickup at the school on October 27. This pick up is being organized by School Council and the Support Staff will be on site during their regular hours.
