Classroom Assignments
On Thursday afternoon, you will receive an email of introduction from your child’s classroom teacher. Please keep an eye on your email to ensure that you receive this information.
Note: Class lists are subject to change due to enrolment.
First Day Procedure
We know how important the first days of school are for both parents and children. Teachers will meet their students outside the building. Signs will be posted at each door indicating where to meet the teacher. We will keep these meeting points as close to their entry/exit doors as possible.
You’ll notice a Welcome Back sign at the front. Feel free to take advantage of that as a photo opportunity! It’s a small way to say thank you for your support and excitement as our new year begins.
Arrival & Dismissal
All students will enter and exit through their assigned doors.
We will be having early entry once again. This means that students are able to enter the school through their designated doors starting at 7:50 AM and head directly to their classroom. Their teacher will be there to welcome them.
If students are late, they are to enter through the front door and check in with the office before heading to the classroom.
If your child needs to be picked up early, please come to the front office to sign them out. The student will then be called to the office.

All medication needs to be dropped off by an adult in its original container.
School Supplies
All your child’s supplies will be distributed at school by their classroom teacher. The fee for school supplies will be uploaded to your MyCBE account by mid-October.

Facilities Update
Mr. Fernando has worked extremely hard this summer to clean and shine up our school for students. The school looks amazing!
Parents / Visitors / Volunteers
We are excited to welcome back volunteers and visitors to the school.
If you do not have a volunteer clearance completed yet, please stop by the front office to get this process started. All volunteers require an up-to-date police clearance.
Communication Methods
Open, continuous communication is of utmost importance throughout the school year. Staff will use the following methods to communicate learning and updates:
- SchoolMessenger – Please ensure you have subscribed in order to receive these messages. Don’t miss out on school messages! To ensure you receive important information from your child’s school and the Calgary Board of Education, please subscribe to receive commercial electronic messages on school topics such as student fees, picture days, field trips, and fun lunches.
- Google Classroom – Please check regularly for updates.
- Phone Calls
You will also find up-to-date school-wide information through:
- School Website – Will highlight events occurring at the school.
- Administration Weekly Update – Available on the website.
- School Calendar – Please visit our school website for our school calendar. You will find calendars for Grades 1–6 as well as Kindergarten.
Bussing
This year we have several buses from the community of Legacy. Please know that bussing decisions are not made at the school level.
If your child will not be riding the bus at the end of the day, please contact both the main office and the teacher to let them know ahead of time, as attendance is taken daily.
If you have not yet registered for bussing, it would be important that you complete this process as soon as possible. It can take up to 6 weeks to confirm enrolment on the bus at the beginning of the school year.
Attendance
If your child is going to be absent, please call the attendance line and leave a message with your child’s name, date, and reason for absence.
This line is available 24/7 and supports the front office by reducing unnecessary phone calls.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Parking
The front of the school is a busy place at the beginning and end of each school day. We have several buses and one handicapped zone.
Please do not park in either of these zones.
There is ample parking on the other side of the road and around the neighbourhood. Please keep in mind that there is also a “No Parking” zone in the alley behind the school.
We ask that you be courteous to our neighbours.
Dogs
Please remember that no dogs are allowed on school property, as per city bylaw.
Looking Forward to a Wonderful Year
Thank you to all who are helping prepare for the new school year. Our staff eagerly look forward to greeting students and families again.
We are excited about the possibilities this year will bring!
